Wheel-thrown porcelain pitcher. This pitcher holds 56 ounces with a little room left at the top. The spout is designed for the perfect pour. The process of making this pitcher is quite in-depth and interesting. First, the pitcher form is thrown on the pottery wheel, then the spout is formed by hand. Next, the handle is pulled out of a separate piece of clay and is attached carefully. The piece then needs to be bisque fired, glazed with the crystalline glaze that was used, then fired again. This is truly a unique looking pitcher that will stand out in any kitchen and can even be used decoratively to display flowers or kitchen utensils. Thomas takes the time to 'hand pull' his handles (a different technique than many other potters use, it requires practice and is difficult to do) so that the shape of them is comfortable to grip.

Size: 8.75" tall x 5" wide Weight: 3 lbs

This piece is made of porcelain and the crystal growth was achieved by using a crystalline glaze.
